Springbalance Doors
Tilt-Up Track Fitting

Track (or “T”) Fitting Tilt-Up Doors are excellent for openings where there is restricted side room and headroom. They are suitable for garages, sheds, small workshops or where light weight and light duty doors are required. The T fitting Tilt-Up Door protrudes less (externally) than the J Fitting in the open position.

Tilt-Up - Kpanel

Opening
The door operates within the opening, therefore the opening must be true and plumb. Steel jambs are supplied (when required) as standard unless otherwise specified. IMPORTANT: Sufficient additional opening height, equivalent to the door thickness in the open position, must be taken into account when designing the opening. Refer to clearance detail data sheet and technical drawing.

Door Construction
The door consists of a single leaf door frame and cladding.

Door Frame
The door frame shall be constructed using rolled hollow section steel tube members, braced and trussed as required to reduce deflection in the open position. The frame be prime coated with zinc rich chromate as standard and can be powdercoated or spray painted as specified.

Cladding
Due to weight restrictions only light cladding types such as K-panel sheeting and Plywood are suitable for Tilt-Up Doors. See Cladding Options.

Locking
Manually operated doors shall be fitted with a chrome "T" lock (handle lock) at approximately 400mm high with spring catches fitted to each side of the door. The "T" handle lock is key operated from outside only as standard. OPTIONAL: Tilt-Up Doors can be fitted with padbolts or patio bolts (when specified) internally and fitted to either side unless otherwise specified. Padlocks not supplied by Airport Doors. If motorisation is required, the use of padbolts or patio bolts is not recommended due to self locking by the motor.

Installation
The door is normally designed to overlap the lintel and jambs are provided for this (to pack the door back from the lintel). However where the lintel is single (stepped out), the jambs allow the door to be fitted fully between the nibs and back from the lintel. Alternatively where headroom is otherwise insufficient, the door is fitted beneath the lintel. In this case a minimum design top gap of 20mm is required.

Operation
Operating by means of a spring balanced pivot arm & top track, the door tilts out and up into a horizontal opened position under the lintel. As a guide in the open position, doors greater than approx. 2280mm high protrude externally. Doors less than approx. 2280mm retract fully within the opening. See Method of Operation.

Motorisation
See Sectional Operators.
